Where it began
I like to think it was in the genes
Some of my happiest childhood memories are of helping in my grandma’s shop in New Moston. I would arrange boxed handkerchiefs on the counter, help count the stock and, if I was lucky, share a cream cake in the back room.
Long before I knew what my own shop might look like, I understood how special it felt to welcome people, get to know them and help them find something they loved.

A dream on paper
Lucy Cobb opens in Uppermill
After twenty years in HR, a leadership coach asked me to draw my dream for the future. I drew a boutique. I trained as a style consultant in London, found the right space in Uppermill and opened Lucy Cobb on 19 September 2006.

Lucy Cobb is now a dedicated online boutique, run by Lucy and the team from Saddleworth. The way we sell has evolved, but our promise has not: thoughtful collections, honest advice and service from people who care.

My style-consultancy training taught me how colour, proportion and shape can transform not just an outfit, but how someone feels in it.
That knowledge still guides everything we choose. We look for clothes that are flattering, wearable and a little bit special—pieces that work in real wardrobes and help you feel confident, comfortable and completely yourself.
