Terms of service
Last updated: 20 August 2026
Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before using our website or placing an order.
These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made through the Lucy Cobb website and set out the basis on which we supply products to you.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
1. About us
The terms “Lucy Cobb”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Lucy Cobb Limited.
Lucy Cobb Limited operates this website and online store.
Our trading and returns address is:
Lucy Cobb Limited
Unit 19
Saddleworth Business Centre
Delph
OL3 5DF
United Kingdom
Company number: 05922389
Registered in England and Wales.
Email: sales@lucycobb.com
Our online store is hosted by Shopify, which provides the ecommerce platform that enables us to offer our products and services online.
2. Using our website
You may use our website for lawful purposes. Our website and products are intended primarily for personal and household use and are not intended for commercial resale unless we expressly agree otherwise.
You must not misuse the website, attempt to interfere with its operation or security, introduce viruses or other malicious technology, use the website for unlawful purposes, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website or its systems.
Where you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login information secure and for ensuring the information associated with your account remains accurate.
We may suspend or restrict access to the website where reasonably necessary, including for maintenance, security or where we reasonably believe the website is being misused.
3. Our products
We take reasonable care to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, sizing information, colours and other details shown on our website are accurate.
However, colours and appearance can vary slightly depending on your device, screen settings and photography. Measurements and sizing information may also vary slightly between brands and styles. We provide sizing information as accurately as reasonably possible, but you should check the relevant sizing information before placing an order.
These minor variations do not affect your statutory rights where goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise do not meet the standards required by law.
All products are subject to availability.
We may change or discontinue products and may limit quantities available for purchase where reasonably necessary.
Unless otherwise stated, products purchased through our website are intended for personal or household use and not for commercial resale.
4. Prices
All prices displayed on our website are in pounds sterling (£) and include VAT where applicable.
Delivery charges are shown separately where applicable and will be displayed before you complete your order.
We may change our prices at any time, but changes will not affect an order that we have already accepted.
We may correct obvious pricing errors before we accept your order. If we identify an obvious pricing error after you have placed an order but before the contract is formed, we will contact you and give you the option to proceed at the correct price or cancel the order for a full refund.
5. Placing an order
When you place an order through our website, you are making an offer to buy the products in your basket.
After you place your order, you will receive an email acknowledging that we have received it. This acknowledgement does not necessarily mean that your order has been accepted.
A contract between you and Lucy Cobb is formed when we confirm that your order has been accepted and is being processed for dispatch.
We may decline or cancel an order before dispatch where reasonably necessary, for example because:
- a product is unavailable;
- there is an obvious pricing or product-description error;
- we are unable to obtain authorisation for payment;
- we have reason to suspect fraud or misuse; or
- we are unable to deliver to the address provided.
If we cancel an order after taking payment, we will refund the amount paid.
Please check your order and delivery details carefully before submitting it. If you notice an error after placing your order, contact us as soon as possible. We will try to help, but we may not be able to change an order once it has entered the fulfilment process.
6. Payment
Payment must be made in full before products are dispatched.
The payment methods currently available will be shown at checkout.
Payments may be processed on our behalf by Shopify and/or other authorised payment providers.
You confirm that the payment information you provide is accurate and that you are authorised to use the payment method selected.
We do not directly store full payment-card details where these are processed securely by our payment providers.
7. Promotional codes and offers
From time to time, we may offer promotional codes, discounts, free-delivery offers or other promotions.
Unless the individual promotion states otherwise:
- only one promotional code may be used per order;
- promotional codes cannot be exchanged for cash;
- promotional codes must be used within any stated validity period;
- certain products, brands, collections or sale items may be excluded;
- promotions cannot normally be combined with another offer; and
- discounts apply only in accordance with the conditions communicated with the promotion.
Where a promotional discount applies across more than one product, the value of the discount may be apportioned across the eligible products in the order.
If you return an item purchased using a promotional discount, your refund will reflect the amount you actually paid for that item after the relevant discount was applied.
Any specific conditions attached to a promotion will be displayed alongside that promotion and will take precedence over this section where they differ.
8. Delivery
We currently offer delivery to the United Kingdom, Jersey, Guernsey, the Isle of Man, Ireland, Canada and Australia, subject to the availability shown at checkout.
Available delivery services, prices and estimated delivery times will be shown on our website or at checkout. Further details are set out in our Delivery Policy.
Unless we have agreed a different delivery period with you, we will deliver the goods without undue delay and, in any event, within 30 days of the date the contract is formed.
Delivery dates and times given at checkout or on our website are estimates unless we expressly agree otherwise.
If we fail to deliver within the agreed delivery period, or within the period required by law, you may have legal rights to require us to deliver the goods within an appropriate additional period or, in certain circumstances, to cancel the contract and obtain a refund.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.
We aim to dispatch and deliver orders within the times stated, but delays can occasionally happen because of circumstances outside our reasonable control.
If there is a significant delay, please contact us.
Please ensure that the delivery address provided with your order is complete and accurate.
We are responsible for your order until the goods are delivered into your physical possession, or into the physical possession of a person you have identified to receive them on your behalf, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
If your parcel appears to have been lost or damaged in transit, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible so that we can investigate with the delivery provider.
9. Cancelling an online order
As an online customer, you will normally have a legal right to change your mind and cancel your contract without giving a reason.
For most products, the cancellation period ends 14 days after the day on which you, or someone nominated by you, receives the goods.
If a single order is delivered in separate parcels or on different days, the cancellation period will normally run from receipt of the final item.
To exercise your right to cancel, you must tell us clearly that you wish to cancel within the cancellation period. You can do this by emailing sales@lucycobb.com or by making any other clear statement informing us that you wish to cancel. You do not have to give a reason for cancelling.
You may also use the model cancellation form set out at the end of these Terms, but you do not have to do so.
If you cancel after the goods have been dispatched or delivered, you must return them to us.
10. Returning unwanted goods
After notifying us that you wish to cancel, you must send the goods back within 14 days.
Returns should be sent to:
Lucy Cobb Returns
Unit 19
Saddleworth Business Centre
Delph
OL3 5DF
United Kingdom
Unless we state otherwise, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning unwanted goods where you have simply changed your mind.
You should obtain proof of postage and use an appropriate postal service. For change-of-mind returns, you are responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us unless we have agreed otherwise.
You may inspect and try on products as you reasonably would when deciding whether to purchase them.
Please take reasonable care of returned goods and, where possible, return them with their original tags, packaging and accessories.
We may make a reasonable deduction from your refund if the value of the goods has been reduced because they have been handled more than is reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and fit.
This does not affect your rights in relation to faulty goods.
11. Products that cannot normally be returned after opening
Certain products may be exempt from the statutory change-of-mind cancellation right.
This can include sealed goods which are not suitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons once the seal has been broken.
Any such restriction will not affect your rights where an item is faulty, damaged or not as described.
Any other statutory exceptions will apply where relevant and will be identified on the applicable product information wherever reasonably possible.
12. Refunds for cancelled orders
Where you validly cancel an order under your statutory cancellation rights, we will refund the amount you paid for the returned products.
If you cancel the whole order, we will also refund the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option available for that order.
If you chose a more expensive delivery service, such as an enhanced or next-day service, we are not required to refund the additional amount paid above the standard delivery charge.
We may withhold the refund until we have received the returned goods or you provide evidence that you have sent them back, whichever occurs first.
We will make your refund without undue delay and, in any event, within 14 days of the date on which we receive the returned goods or you provide evidence that you have sent them back, whichever occurs first.
We will normally make the refund using the same payment method used for the original transaction unless otherwise agreed.
13. Faulty, damaged or incorrect goods
Your statutory rights apply in addition to our change-of-mind returns policy.
Under UK consumer law, goods supplied by us must meet the standards required by law, including being of satisfactory quality, fit for any particular purpose made known to us where applicable, and as described.
If an item is faulty, damaged, incorrect or does not match its description, please contact us as soon as reasonably practicable at sales@lucycobb.com so that we can investigate and resolve the issue.
Please include your order details and information about the problem so that we can resolve it.
Depending on the circumstances and your legal rights, available remedies may include a refund, repair, replacement or price reduction.
Where you have a legal right to reject faulty goods, we will bear reasonable return costs.
Damage caused by normal wear and tear, misuse, accidental damage, failure to follow care instructions or alterations made after delivery will not normally be treated as a product fault.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any statutory rights you have in relation to faulty goods.
14. Risk and ownership
Risk in the goods passes to you when the goods come into your physical possession or the physical possession of someone you have nominated to receive them, subject to applicable law.
Ownership of the goods passes to you once we have received payment in full and the goods have been dispatched to you.
15. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, all content on the Lucy Cobb website, including photographs, graphics, logos, branding, text, video, website content and design elements, is owned by or licensed to Lucy Cobb Limited.
This content is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may access and use our website for your own personal and non-commercial use.
You must not reproduce, republish, distribute, commercially exploit or otherwise use our website content without our prior written permission, except where permitted by law.
Third-party trade marks, product names and brand names remain the property of their respective owners.
16. Shopify and other third-party services
Our online store is hosted by Shopify.
Shopify provides the ecommerce technology that enables us to operate our online store, but your contract for the purchase of goods is with Lucy Cobb Limited, not Shopify.
We may also use third-party providers for services such as payment processing, delivery, reviews and website functionality.
Those providers may have their own terms and privacy policies where you interact directly with their services.
Our website may also contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or operation of websites that we do not own or control.
Nothing in this section excludes any responsibility that Lucy Cobb has to you under applicable consumer law.
17. Privacy
We take the protection of personal information seriously.
Information about how we collect, use, store and share personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Because our website is hosted by Shopify and uses other service providers, certain personal information may be processed by those providers in order to operate the website, process orders and provide related services.
Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further information.
18. Our liability to you
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory rights in relation to the goods.
Subject to the above, we are responsible for loss or damage that you suffer as a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We do not accept responsibility for losses that are not foreseeable or that arise from your use of the products for commercial resale or other purposes contrary to these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.
19. Events outside our reasonable control
We are not responsible for a failure or delay in performing our obligations where that failure or delay is caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
These may include severe weather, transport disruption, postal or courier disruption, industrial action, failures of telecommunications or technology infrastructure, acts of government, civil emergencies or other similar events.
Where such an event affects your order, we will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect of the delay and will contact you where appropriate.
Your statutory rights, including any rights relating to significant delivery delays or cancellation, remain unaffected.
We will not use this provision to avoid any obligation to provide a refund or other remedy where you have a statutory right to one.
20. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be treated as removed only to the extent necessary.
The remaining provisions will continue in effect.
21. Waiver
If we do not immediately insist that you do something required by these Terms, or if we delay taking action in respect of a breach, this does not mean that we have waived our rights.
22. Assignment
You may only transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms where we agree in writing or where the law otherwise allows you to do so.
We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation, provided that doing so does not reduce your rights under the contract.
23. Governing law and disputes
These Terms and any contract between you and Lucy Cobb Limited are governed by English law.
Nothing in these Terms deprives you of any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
If you live in England or Wales, proceedings relating to these Terms may be brought in the courts of England and Wales.
If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live.
We would always prefer to try to resolve a complaint directly first. Please contact us at sales@lucycobb.com and we will try to resolve the issue with you.
24. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to our business, website, services or applicable law.
The Terms that apply to an order will be those in force when the contract for that order is made.
The latest version of these Terms will be published on our website together with the date on which they were last updated.
